Clinical Experience with Cefpimizole sodium

Abstract
|
|
|
Cefpimizole is recently developed semisynthetic cephalosporins that has a broad spectrum of bacteriostatic and bactericidal effects, especially against ©¬-lactamase producing bacteria.
Among 30 patients, 14 had respiratory tract infection, 8 sepsis, 6 urinary tract infection, 2 alimentary tract infection, and one CAPD infection. (One of these patients, had both respiratory tract infection and urinary tract infection). Total clinical efficiency was 83.3%, as for respiratory tract infection 84.6%, sepsis 87.5%, and urinary tract infection 83.3% separately.
Adverse effects were noted in 2 patients, with nausea and vomiting, which was well controlled with antiemetics.
